Day 1: Nairobi- Old Moses Camp (3300m)

This climbing safari starts and ends in Nairobi. You shall be picked from your residence or hotel around Nairobi and later, you shall be transferred to Mount Kenya National Park. It should be noted that Mount Kenya national park encompasses Mount Kenya.  You shall arrive around lunchtime. Upon arrival, you shall meet other mountain support crew members like the mountain guides, porters, and cooks at the park entrance at the sirimon gate. After going through the entrance formalities, you shall begin to ascend to Old Moses Camp. This hike takes around 3-4 hours. Relax, have dinner and take a deep sleep.

Day 2: Old Moses Camp- Shipton Camp Altitude: 4200m, Distance: 7 hours.

Early in the morning after breakfast, you shall start hiking from Old Moses camp to Shipton camp. This hike offers magnificent views of the Nanyuki town. You shall have breathtaking views of peak Batian and Nelion peak. Later, you shall lodge at Shipton camp for the rest of the day.

Day 3: Shipton Camp to Point Lenana (summit) and descend to Mintos Camp.

This is one of the most challenging days during the safari. You shall normally go to bed early enough such that you wake up at around 3am. Upon waking up, you shall begin your hike to the summit- point Lenana which is at 4985m. This hike takes around 3 hours and you are likely to arrive at around 6:30 am. Upon reaching the summit, you shall take all memorable photos and stay a bit while enjoying the magnificent views. Later after sunrise, you shall descend down to Mintos camp for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4:    Mintos Camp

During this day, you shall take a simple hike around Mintos camp and later you shall come back to the camp. During the hike, you shall witness wonderful sights of Lake Elie, Gorge Valley, and others. This hike is normally for 4 hours and it offers a great way to relax. Dinner and overnight at Mintos camp

Day 5: Mintos camp – Meru Mt.Kenya Lodges (Bandas)

You shall continue descending until the wonderful bandas. During the hike, you shall witness great views of Michelson and Vivienne falls, and across the other side, you shall view Rotundu peaks, Ithanguni peaks, and the giant flat top kilingo hill table.

Day 6: Chogoria Gate – Nairobi City.

You shall continue descending through the thick rainforest with several species of wildlife like the Columbus monkeys until the Chogoria gate and later, you shall be transferred to Nairobi to mark the end of this 6 days Mount Kenya climbing starting and finishing at Nairobi.
