6 Days Mid Range Safari in Tanzania

Early morning after breakfast at your hotel/ Lodge in Arusha you will be picked by our driver and drive towards Lake Manyara National Park; the little gem at the base of the Great Rift Valley. You arrive by mid morning and after registering at the gate you embark on your first game drives encountering lots of baboon troops and herds of elephants as you enter this lush green park well known as the home of the legendary tree climbing lions. The day will be spent at in the park with game drives and a visit to the Lake itself where you will venture out of your vehicle briefly to watch the hippos and flocks of flamingos and other aquatic species from a far. Late in the afternoon, we will drive out of the park and head to Karatu for overnight at Country Lodge at Karatu or similar. Lunchbox and dinner included. Other midrange lodges also available

On this second day of the safari, we check out early after breakfast at the lodge and drive a short distance to Loduare Main gate to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where we have a brief stop for registration then ascend further to the Crater Rim where we will also take a short stop for some pictures and amazing views over the Crater floor, then drive on to Serengeti National Park. On the way, there is an option to visit the Olduvai Gorge if you wish at extra cost. By midday, we will be at Naabi Hill Gate where we register to enter Serengeti National Park for afternoon game drives for the rest of the day. Later in the afternoon, we retire to the midrange tented camp for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Serengeti Heritage Camp or similar. All meals included for the day.

Early morning game drive is a very good idea if you are ready for a good start because that will enable you to spot some of the rare nocturnal species as they retire from a night out hunting. It is so nice also as you will be able to watch the diurnal ones as they wake up for a new day in the African bush as well as the birds as they whistle to their best morning tunes. After breakfast at the lodge/camp, you will then spend the rest of the day in the African endless plains of the Serengeti. Depending on the time of travel you expect to witness the famous wildebeests migration as well as many resident animals including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, topis, hartebeests, impalas, grant and Thompson gazelles, silver-backed jackals and many more animals with the list being endless. Late afternoon we retire back to the lodge/camp for the campfire where you will be sipping a cold beer as you reflect on the last day out in the African bush. Overnight at Serengeti Heritage Camp or similar.All meals included.

Very early breakfast at the lodge/ camp then check out and drive backwards with game drives on the way arriving by midday at Naabi Hill Gate where you exit again the Serengeti and re-enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Drive to Ngorongoro Crater rim and descend into the Crater floor for a fun-filled day of game drives. At Ngorongoro with the greatest concentration of animals in a small area, we will have the best chance to spot the big five of the Elephants, Lions, Buffaloes, Leopards and the rare Black Rhino. The Crater floor is also a haven for bird lovers with more than 350 species recorded. We take lunch at the hippo poolside picnic side after which we continue with game drives until later in the afternoon when we drive to The Crater rim for overnight at Rhino Lodge or at Country Lodge at Karatu nearby. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner included.

Breakfast at the lodge then drives downwards to the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Tarangire National Park where you will do your last day of safari. Tarangire National Park with the gigantic old baobab trees dwarfing the huge elephant’s herds below is one of the best wildlife areas in Northern Tanzania Safari Circuit. We spend the day doing game drives in the park and along banks of the Tarangire River which acts as the bloodline of the park ensuring a constant presence of animals all year round. Tarangire is also the best place to spot the rare species like the long-necked gerenuks, fringe-eared oryx and the rare birds like the Ashy Starlings. Overnight at Maramboi Tented Camp or Lake Burunge Tented Camp. All meals included.

Breakfast at the lodge or tented camp and go for the last game drive at Tarangire if you wish before driving back to Arusha. alternatively, you can do morning walking safari inside the park guided by an armed range or guided by the Masai warriors at the park boundaries (at extra cost). We will arrive by mid-morning at Arusha where the safari ends. You will be dropped at the Arusha Airport if going for a beach extension at Zanzibar Island. This safari can be combined with a beach extension in Zanzibar if you wish. The same package can be combined with Kilimanjaro climbing The safari can be customized with more luxurious or cheaper options depending on your preference and budget.
