Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara Game Reserve
This safari can be either a group safari or a private safari. Depending on your arrangement, you shall be picked up from your agreed pick up point around Nairobi and later you will be driven to Maasai Mara. During the route, you will make the first stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewing area. The great right valley connects Asia to Africa. The rift valley starts in Lebanon, Middle East, and Ends in Mozambique. These series of picturesque mountain ranges are spectacular. Since the Rift valley makes its way into Kenya; you can always have a clear view of it along the Nairobi to Maasai Mara route. This route is about 280 km from Nairobi and it takes about 6 hours to arrive in Maasai Mara. During the stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewing area, you shall have a brief history about the great valley and how important the Great Rift Valley has been to the people that surround it. Later, you shall continue to Narok. Narok is a popular district with a popular of over 40000 people and mostly Maasai-it is the town before you arrive in Maasai Mara. Upon arrival at Maasai Mara, you shall check in your lodge and later go for an afternoon game drive. If you are fortunate enough, this game drive shall enable you to view the big 5 and other wildlife species. Maasai Mara is not like any other park, because of the millions of wildlife animals that inhabit within the park; it is possible to have a wildlife viewing satisfaction within a single game drive. However, since you are in Maasai Mara for an extensive game drive; you shall take all the necessary game drives. Later, you shall drive to the lodge to rest a bit and refresh upon all the activities and experiences that happened during the day, have a wonderful and tasty dinner before retiring for a great sleep.
Day 2: Full day game drive
This is the epitome of this safari. You shall be in a position to watch the different game experiences during this day. Prepare and be expectant. Since it is a whole day game drive, you shall have an early morning game drive, mid-afternoon game drive, and an evening game drive. During any of the game drives, you shall be in a position to watch several species of wildlife that call Maasai Mara their home and these include: hartebeest, lions, hyenas, antelopes, Elephants, Maasai giraffes, Buffaloe’s warthogs, crocodiles, Oribi, Rhinos, hippopotamus, Leopards, East African cheetah, hartebeest, wildebeest, Thomson gazelles, zebras, and others. If you happen to come around the great migration which happens between July to October, you shall be in a position to watch millions of wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of Thomson gazelles and zebra crossing from Tanzania’s famous Serengeti national park to Maasai Mara national park. Serengeti national park is not very far away from the Maasai Mara and the two parks form a region which offers one of the best game viewing options in Africa. Lunch is normally served near Mara River while witnessing several wildlife species that inhabit within the river. And during the great migration, the Mara River is one of the popular sights to watch the great migration. To some animals, especially the Crocodiles, this is feasting time; you shall view them hijacking some of the wildebeest and other creatures that are participating in the great migration. After an insightful day, you shall drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Maasai Mara – Lake Nakuru N Park
Early in the morning after breakfast, you shall take an early morning game drive to mark the end of your Maasai Mara adventure. During this game drive, you shall watch several wildlife experiences that are peculiar to the morning. You shall have a chance of looking out for any other wildlife species that you missed to watch. Before you leave Maasai Mara, you might take an optional visit to the Maasai village for one hour. Later, you shall drive to Lake Nakuru and arrive in the evening. Upon arrival, you shall relax, dine and slumber at the lodge.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru N Park to Nairobi
Early in the morning, which is normally a great bird observation moment, you shall drive to Lake Nakuru national park to watch several wildlife species that inhabit within the park. Lake Nakuru is mainly famous for being a birding haven. During the visit, you shall witness millions of flamingos and other bird species floating over the lake and at the shores. After this adventure, you shall pack up your bags and drive to Nairobi to mark the end of your 4 days Maasai Mara and Lake Nakuru safari.
