Serengeti Heritage Camps are a collection of luxury tented accommodations that evoke the nostalgia of traditional African safaris while offering the comforts of modern-day luxury. Situated within the vast expanse of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, these camps are designed to provide an intimate, authentic experience. Each camp is nestled in a natural setting, surrounded by Acacia trees, offering a serene backdrop to the adventure of wildlife viewing. The camps maintain a small capacity, with only 40 guests at a time, ensuring personalized service and an exclusive feel.

The tents at Serengeti Heritage Camps are not just accommodations but experiences in themselves. Each tent is a spacious, walk-in luxury, equipped with all the necessities for a comfortable stay – running water, flush toilets, and showers with both hot and cold options. The ambiance is one of old-world charm, reminiscent of colonial hunting camps, yet the amenities reflect contemporary luxury. Nightly campfires serve as a communal gathering point, where guests can warm up, share stories, and reflect on the day’s adventures under the starlit African sky. The staff, known for their friendliness and dedication, go above and beyond to ensure each guest’s stay is memorable, allowing you to immerse in the rhythm of Serengeti life at your own pace.

Location

  • Heritage Central Serengeti Camp: This camp is strategically placed in the Seronera area, a mere 10-minute drive from the Serengeti airstrip, making it highly accessible. It’s located in Turner 3, where wildlife is abundant, especially on the route to the Research Centre, offering guests an opportunity to encounter the park’s permanent residents.
  • Heritage Mara Camp (Kogatende): Located in the northern Serengeti, about 20 minutes from the Mara River, this camp provides a front-row seat to the dramatic wildebeest crossings during the migration season. It’s perched on a hill amidst evergreen trees, offering sweeping views and a secluded setting for game viewing.
  • Heritage Ndutu Camp: Situated in the Ndutu Big Marsh region, straddling the southern Serengeti and northern Ngorongoro, this camp offers peace and solitude. It’s enveloped by natural vegetation, attracting a plethora of birdlife and wildlife, making it an ideal spot for those seeking tranquility away from crowded routes.

Accommodation

Each of the Serengeti Heritage Camps offers luxurious tent accommodations:

  • Heritage Central Serengeti Camp: Features 12 tents, each designed with opulent furnishings and modern safari style, ensuring guests experience luxury in the wild.
  • Heritage Mara Camp: Contains beautiful bell tents, providing true African glamping with a focus on the migration spectacle.
  • Heritage Ndutu Camp: Offers a home-like warmth with 13 luxury tents, where guests can enjoy the sounds and sights of nature from their doorstep.

All tents share common features like electrical outlets, mosquito nets, tea/coffee stations, en-suite bathrooms with showers and flush toilets, and pure cotton linen sheets for a comfortable sleep under the African night.

Heritage Mara Camp

Heritage Mara Camp is the ultimate destination for witnessing the Great Migration. Open from July to November, this camp allows guests to see the wildebeest herds attempting the perilous Mara River crossing. The camp’s location near the river but away from the main road ensures privacy and an authentic, remote safari experience. The luxury here is not just in the comfort but in the experience of nature’s drama unfolding before you.

Heritage Central Serengeti Camp

This camp combines luxury with the wild heart of the Serengeti. It’s nestled near Seronera, where wildlife is a constant companion. The camp’s design and amenities are tailored for those who want the best of both worlds – the thrill of the wilderness with the comforts of a high-end resort. Here, guests can enjoy traditional dances, cultural experiences, and the luxury of internet access, all while surrounded by nature.

Heritage Ndutu Camp

Ndutu Heritage Camp is a sanctuary of peace, especially during the calving season of the migration when the plains are dotted with newborn wildebeests. The camp’s setting in the marshland area offers unique opportunities for bird watching and viewing a diverse range of animals that come to the water. It’s an escape into the quieter, yet equally vibrant, side of the Serengeti.

Dining

Dining at Serengeti Heritage Camps is a celebration of African flavors and hospitality:

  • Three-Course Meals: At Mara Heritage Camp, meals are a culinary event, prepared by a dedicated chef, focusing on fresh, local ingredients.
  • Cultural Dining: Each camp offers dining experiences under the stars, around campfires, or in communal settings where stories of the day’s adventures are shared.
  • Grilling Stations: For those who enjoy the traditional taste of Africa, grilling stations provide an authentic touch to your dining experience.

Amenities

  • Cozy Lounges: For relaxation between safaris.
  • Restaurants: Where gourmet meals are enjoyed with views of the Serengeti.
  • Bar: Offering a large selection of cocktails and liquors to unwind after a day in the wild.
