Arrive Uganda – Airport pickup
The tour starts in Uganda’s international airport-Entebbe International Airport. You shall be picked from the airport by our tour guide and transferred to Kampala or Entebbe hotels for dinner and overnight. Relax and eliminate your fatigue and prepare for the next day. Drive to Kibale National Park
Early in the morning, it shall be time to say bye to the capital city and start driving through the outskirts while enjoying the nice sceneries, rare architectural designs and continue to Kibale national park in the western part of Uganda. It takes only 5 hours to arrive in kibale using the fort portal route. On arrival, you shall check in at your lodge.
Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Nature walk
Kibale national park possesses the largest number of chimpanzees in Uganda. Early in the morning, you shall be transferred to the park headquarter for a brief talk about the chimpanzees. You shall be told how to behave once you spot the chimpanzees, things to avoid and things to do and so on… Your journey shall start in the wilderness with the help of the park ranger. The park rangers are always equipped with knowledge about how to easily trace the chimpanzees. And after hours between 1-5 hours, you shall be able to view the chimpanzees. Stay with them for a maximum of 1 hour and later, move back to the headquarters where you shall meet your tour guide who shall drive you back to the lodge for lunch. Afterwards, move to the Bigodi wetland sanctuary for a nature walk. The nature walk offers opportunities to spot the endemic bird species known around the area. Later, transfer back to the lodge, for dinner and overnight stay.
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Pack your belongings very well. Make sure that you don’t leave any valuable item at the lodge room. Early in the morning, you shall set off for Queen Elizabeth national park. The journey to Queen Elizabeth national park is rewarding. You shall be able to spot some wildlife along the way. If you wish, sometimes, you might end up doing an en-route game drive. You shall arrive in Queen Elizabeth national park in the afternoon. Check in the lodge and later transfer back to the park for a boat cruise. The boat cruise along Kazinga channel shall unveil Uganda’s aquatic animals and endemic water birds. You shall view the aquatic animals up close. Hippopotamus, crocodiles at the banks or near shallow waters, and many others; in the evening, the tour guide shall drive you back to the lodge.
Game Drive and Transfer to Kisoro
You shall wake up in full gear. Take some delicious breakfast to get ready for the next day. After breakfast, the tour guide shall pick you up and drive to the park for a morning game drive. It is possible to drive in the park using the designated trails without the help of a tour ranger however it is normally recommended to have a tour ranger. You shall stand a chance to view various wildlife species like the leopards, lions, Elephants, cheetahs, Buffaloes and many more. Later, transfer back to the lodge to freshen up and later start driving to Kisoro. Upon arrival, you shall check in your lodge and wait to be served with dinner.
Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda
You shall transfer from Kisoro to volcanoes national park in Rwanda. To simplify the process, make sure you have a visa or be willing to pay $100 at the border. On arrival at Ruhengeri which is the most active city near volcanoes national park; you shall check in your lodge. And depending on fatigue levels, you may opt for a city tour or just relax for gorilla trekking the next day.
Gorilla Trekking at Volcanoes National Park
Start your day with high hopes and be excited as you know that by the end of the day, you shall have seen something that you have never physically seen in your entire life-the gorillas. Gorillas are one of the most humble and gentle creatures however they can be dangerous when attacked or provoked. Early in the morning, you shall drive to the park headquarters for briefing about the gorillas and what to expect. Afterwards, start entering into the jungle with the help of the park ranger and commence your gorilla trekking experience. Using various techniques and skills of the park ranger, within a measurable period of time, you shall be in position to spot the gorillas. Stay with the gorilla for a period of 1 hour while witnessing their lifestyle. Take as many photos as you can. Later transfer back to your lodge with great memories. Depending on the lodge location, you shall have picturesque views of the surroundings. Take you dinner and sleep over as you wait for the following day.
Transfer to Kigali – Departure
Early in the morning, you shall move back to the volcanoes national park and take a visit to the Dian Fossey grave, Dian Fossey was an anthropologist who contributed a lot to saving the gorillas in Rwanda otherwise they would be extinct by now. In her capacity, she fought poaching, an activity that had consumed a great number of gorillas. Visiting her grave within the park shall make you appreciate her work. Later you shall transfer to Kigali or Kigali international airport to fly out of the country.
