Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara

This tour starts in Kenya and ends in Uganda. It is great to participate in such a tour because of the various attractions that you shall witness during your visit. Early in the morning after breakfast, our tour guide shall pick you up, brief you about your tour and later, drive you to Maasai Mara. Maasai Mara has kept a record as the most visited destination in Kenya. Hundreds of thousands of tourists visit Maasai Mara each year. There are varying accommodation types for every tourist. Whether you are a budget traveler, standard traveler, or luxurious travelers; there are accommodations that suit your needs. Upon arrival in Maasai Mara, which is estimated to be around lunchtime; you shall check in your lodge, have lunch and later go for an afternoon game drive. Maasai Mara is a wildlife-enthusiasts dream come true. There is lots of wildlife to witness once you visit Maasai Mara. For example, it is easy to spot the big 5: Rhinoceros, Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, and lions. After the game drive, you shall transfer back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full day game drive at Maasai Mara

To have a deep understanding of Maasai Mara, it is always better to participate in a full day game drive. During this day, you shall be in a position to do an early morning game drive, mid-afternoon game drive and the afternoon game drive. All the game drives shall offer you the opportunity to witness several wildlife species and experiences. Early in the morning before breakfast, you shall drive to the park for an early morning game drive; this game drive offers the perfect occasion to witness some the nocturnal practices and at the same time, you shall be in a position to witness several predators hunting down their prey. There are so many wildlife species within the park which include hyenas, Jackals, crocodiles, hippopotamus, foxes, zebras, impalas, duikers, Masai giraffe, lions, Elephants, Buffaloes, Rhinoceros, leopards, and others. River Mara which flows through the reserve offers the much-needed water for survival. After your early morning game drive; you shall drive back to the lodge, have breakfast, pack your lunch in lunch boxes and later drive back to the park for the rest of the game drives. If you travel during July-October and you are fortunate enough, you will witness the great wildlife migration-During this migration, millions of wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of elands, zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles are seen crossing to the Maasai Mara from Serengeti in search of pasture and water. After the last game drive, you shall drive back to the lodge for comfortable relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 3: Maasai Mara – Nairobi – Uganda

Early in the morning, after breakfast, you shall drive back to Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you shall take a flight to Uganda landing at the Entebbe International airport. Our guide shall be waiting for you at the airport for your pickup and later, you shall be transferred to your hotel either in Kampala or Entebbe. You will spend the rest of the day at your hotel.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National park

Queen Elizabeth national park is the most visited national park in Uganda. The park was named after Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her visit to Uganda.  When you visit Queen Elizabeth national park, you are likely to witness the big 5. Early in the morning after breakfast, our tour guide shall pick you up from your hotel and drive you along the famous Masaka-Kampala highway. You shall make a stopover at the Equator, take photos and carry out simple water experiments. Later, you will continue your journey past the rolling hills of the country side until you arrive in Queen Elizabeth national park. The distance from Queen Elizabeth national park to Kampala is about 380km, a journey which takes 7 hours. Upon arrival to Queen Elizabeth national park, you shall check in your lodge and later drive to the park for a boat cruise along the kazinga channel. This boat cruise normally offers the perfect opportunity to spot the crocodile and hippopotamus which reside within the water. You shall be in a position to hear several chanting sounds of birds on the banks of the kazinga channel. Later, you shall drive back to the lodge to mark the end of the day.

Day 5: game drive at Queen Elizabeth national park and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

Early in the morning, you shall drive to the park for an insightful game drive. In Queen Elizabeth, it is possible to spot the big 5 and also a chance to see tree-climbing lions around the Ishasha sector of the park. Chimpanzee trekking is also possible at the Kyambura-gorge. Depending on your interest, you shall drive to the park with the help of an armed tour ranger to look out for all the different species of wildlife within the park. Some of the species to locate include African buffalo, Ugandan kobs, Nile crocodile, African bush Elephant, cheetahs, hyenas, leopards, and others. After taking your packed lunch, you shall start driving along with the Ishasha sector and drive out of the park while heading to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. You will arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable national park in the evening; you shall relax at your lodge waiting for the big day-the gorilla trekking day.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking

Uganda has been blessed to be among those nations that are home to the Mountain gorillas. Presently, Mountain gorillas are only located in Uganda, Rwanda and DRC. During this day, you shall trek the gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable national park. Early in the morning, you shall be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing about the gorillas. And later after being grouped in groups of maximum 8 people, you shall start moving into this impenetrable forest with the help of an armed game ranger to look out for gorillas. The armed rangers are experienced in gorilla trekking. They can pick clues of the gorillas’ whereabouts by identifying any signals-this could be their nests which were prepared in the previous night or anything. This exercise of trekking can take from a minimum of 1 hour to 7 hours. However, there are 99% chances of spotting the gorillas. Upon spotting the gorillas, you will spend 1 hour while watching their different practices. During this period, you shall take as much photos as you can and later, you shall walk back to the park headquarters to receive your gorilla certificate. You will transfer to your lodge with happiness.

Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala.

Early in the morning, you shall transfer back to Kampala or the airport to mark the end of this wonderful journey.
